Staff Spotlight: Meet Debbie and David Parsons

We are excited to introduce the newest members of our team at Protected Harbor, David and Debbie Parsons. Although they officially started their roles on April 1, their commitment to our mission began much earlier, as they shadowed our staff at one of our homes throughout March. They are currently working at Protected Harbor 2 and enjoy gardening, cooking, and exercising with everyone.

David and Debbie bring extensive experience in working with foster care children and in group home settings. They were drawn to Protected Harbor after learning about our mission and praying for guidance on their next steps. After many conversations and meetings, they accepted positions with us. Their passion for serving our residents is evident; they genuinely enjoy spending time with them and challenge them with new adventures and projects while offering continuous encouragement. Debbie shared, “One resident has a contagious laugh, and when we hear it, we laugh as well!” That laughter can brighten even the hardest days.

They are dedicated to getting to know each resident and investing in their lives. David and Debbie both agree that Jesus is their favorite superhero. When they are not working, they love spending time at the beach and watching the sunset. They currently reside in Fort Myers and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of another grandchild.

David’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28: “For we know that all things work together for good.” Debbie’s favorite is Psalm 23:4: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; Your rod and Your staff comfort me.”
